I always wondered what I could add to my wardrobe with already so many things that my mom complains that it will collapse anytime soon if i buy anymore clothes~ As a word of defence, I believe my wardrobe is still only about 60% the size of a ladies wardrobe and 120% of that of a usual singaporean male~ I always felt the top was more important that the bottoms, shoes or anything else, but i'm slowly learning that its the whole package that makes an outfit brilliant or a total mismatch~

one particular accessory I learnt to appreciate is the belt and how it is important to pair your belt with your shoes~ I thought this belt makes a very nice addition for its red and beige stripes with the nice metal front to my current white berms and white loafers set~ Unfortunately it is dead crazy expensive at SGD$180 despite being a clearance price from reebonz~ well its PRADA after all~ A brand I will not succumb my parents to cringe from~ Maybe when I start work! For now, its no way jose man~ nonetheless, should anyone spot something similar in the market, do let me know yeah? =DD

I came across this picture from a forum about how singapore tries to be number 1 in many things.. In this case, a humongous phallic symbol?

Take this with a pinch of salt yah?

Recently I've been using a fair bit of anime pictures for my display picture and my friend once commented "are you an otaku?".. haha indeed i do watch anime and so do several friends I know~ Are we then all otakus?

The image of an otaku as visualized within an anime~
Well lets just say like all things in life, we should always take in moderation and a pinch of salt~ I do catch latest anime seasons and enjoy the shows pretty much~ For me, the start of catching anime started from secondary school days when I was introduced to this anime "Neon Genesis Evangelion"~ For me, it presented an action packed sci-fi adventure with emotions and feelings that didn't felt very much different from watching a show acted out by live actors/actresses~ This was the first show that changed my perspective on 'cartoon'

So begun my fascination with anime~ Unbounded by the constraints of realism and limitations of filming in real life, the evolution of strong anime studios producing top notch anime with great effort placed into styling the characters, the music background, the story board, the voice acting, the art and background~ I've watched some anime that even made me feel so attached to the characters as do people attach themselves to real life celebrities~ Also thanks to my interest in anime, I picked up abit of japanese and even got motivated enough to learn introduction to the japanese language in NUS~ Nowadays when I watch anime, I enjoy being able to discern a fair bit of their conversation(lest the technical terms)~ then again, animes last by cours/seasons of 12/24 episodes of 30min~ so what happens when the anime ends?
Some people buy figurines.. others buy merchandise and posters and decorate their rooms~ me? I just keep watching new anime made by the same producers or silently hope they come out with a new season~ as per all types of entertainment, there are many bad anime I catch maybe 1 episode or 2 before ditching it, while some I may even go back to re-watching them~ Undeniably, cute looking female characters do pique my interest to start watching, but what keeps me on the series is how the story and package is like~ Personally I like original animes with lovable characters that do not stick to the old cliche raunchy anime stories that some anime companies rely heavily upon on their marketing.. I enjoy gag type anime like Lucky Star, action ones like Gundam and Bleach, emotional ones like Clannad/Angel Beats, original ones like Darker than Black, some meaningless but unique/funny ones like K-on!! and the occasional romance animes that branch away from the usual harem most japanese men dream of~
so does these classify one as an otaku? Well if I was spending hours and hours of my life watching anime, spending fortunes on buying merchandise and speaking of nothing other than anime~ Then yup I would be one~ But I do like anime~ It has made me laugh out loud, hang on tthe edge of my seat, go crazy thinking of whats happening on the next episode and even made a grown man cry on a few occasions~ So the next time someone says he/she loves anime~ Don't be too quick to think he/she is some stereotypical anime crazed fan with no glimpse of reality yeah!
P.S: This is one of my fav anime blog site that talks about latest season episodes! Check it out! http://randomc.net/
