in anticipation of a hectic academic year, decided to do justice to my blog by removing the term 'photoblog' hahaa... havent been doing any really nice shoots and most of my outings etc are at night where my camera body 450D does terribly with up to ISO1600 only.. haha... and i don't like to use flash... forsee that wont have photos up as often as before for most of the school term too... with schoolwork and less travelling around... sigh.. so gonna miss laopo4.. lolx... meanwhile save up for 70-200 f4/L IS!! $1000 plus more to save! hopefully can get that lens at the end of sem 1.. =D

been allocated LSM2103 and LSM2104... but then dont have the exp mod i wanna take, so may request to take ST2238 too... haven't really looked through what other 2 mods i can take... probably GEM modules... so fast man.. next week start bidding le... hahaa sense the closing of my 3 months holiday... meanwhile i'm having constant stress thinking about when i will get activated for my ops manning till tuesday... still have to worry about the Canoeing Alumni AGM i'm chairing... after that going to desaru for a 2D1N cycling trip, and the same day i return from desaru is my Science Orientation Week Day 0.. hahaa.. gonna pump vitamins man.. cant afford to fall sick!! last burst of activities before uni life sweeps me off my feet again!

Its already 22nd July! ahhh.. time really flies.. this marks the start of my manning period... gotta force myself to wake up early for the rest of this week in the event of activation... just hope this one week passes just as quickly~~ since my last post, was involved in SOW Prep Camp from 14 to 16 July... after all that shouting and ra ra-ing and sleeping in a sleeping bag in super cold LT and lack of sleep, i finally got sick and spent most of my days resting after medication... finally showed signs of recovery on sunday where i went to assist SCF as a volunteer official for the National Canoe Champs and dinner with the greenies at night~

wow... now that i really look, i havent updated this blog for close to 2 weeks! hahaa.. ok lar.. was busy with stuff and all... after the SDBF, i was tied up organising and trying to contact my OG friends from Science Orientation Week (SOW) 2007 for the sentosa chalet... i booked the chalet back in may but was shocked when some of them backed out.. made me realize a fatal flaw i made... i should have made everyone pay the moment i made the booking.. to make things easier for them, i decided to pay first, and after consolidating the BBQ food and other misc stuff then ask them pay back in total.. end up now its like because of my kindness,i have to beg them to pay me back... ever since, i swore to myself to never trust anyone when it comes to money... its sad... but up to now, i still have trouble getting money back...

with anger and frustration even on the actual day, i was suddenly thrown a spanner to pay for the BBQ food too when i was already out heading to sentosa.. with heavy bags of food and drinks in my hands i went around vivo looking for ATM... amazing but true how come you know that you will be in charge of ordering the food, and only 1hr prior to meeting up, you say you havent paid and have NO MONEY to pay for it... can you imagine the angst in me? at my age... dont even have a few hundred reserve? i highly doubt so... how convenient that he was outside when he contacted me so wasn't convenient for him.. i guess it was super convenient for me then... sigh... yet again i find myself stabbing myself in the back by being such a nice guy... being exploited...

nonetheless, once the rest started to come, i cast aside my anger, dissapointment and frustration and told myself.. "I spent so much effort to make this chalet possible... I intend to enjoy it" and so we had a fun filled 3D2N of chalet at costa sands kampung huts.. the air con was comfortable as usual, weather was good, just abit of mosquitos that were thankfully diverted to our Mosquito Sacrificial Lambs (MSL).. we had really late nights and midnight strolls and played cards and all.. all in all i felt really tired but i did what i set out to achieve... and that was to have fun... though i still have hundreds of dollars still awaiting payment, i decided to give myself a pat on my back since no one really quites see my troubles.. "Job Well Done"

then after resting much on monday, i went to macrithchie on tuesday for the national schools canoeing championships~ got a job as safety canoe for 4 days.. was fun watching people race and reliving my JC days as National Schools was like the pinnacle of my canoeing life... the tension, the joy, the sadness, the tears, the sweats... only diff is that standards have changed alot and i'm like 5 years older than those racing on average.. got sunburnt, irritated by the ever bored weiliang, listening to comms and learning how a race is conducted, cheering my juniors on~ couldnt bring my DSLR on board as it was FAR from water proof, but smuggled my camera phone in a waterproof bag and took some pics on the final day! =D too bad the quality sucks coz of digital zoom~ booo...

will be away for Science Orientation Week 2008 (SOW 2008) seniors prep camp from tml till 16th july~ still deliberating if i ought to bring my baby along~ guess if i did i wont bring my L lens too~ hmm.. see how it goes ba~~
