hmmz.. time flies manz.. its almost my 4th month in 40 already... some things are the same some keep changing.. its really alot of things to learn everyday as a PC.. back in sch ppl always say to be a servant leader... its really not something we should try to be... coz as long as you are genuinely concerned and want to do something for your men, it doesnt tire you to do that extra bit for these guys and thus serve them as a leader....
metaphorically speaking, you can say a leader is like a tuner.. he breaks or pieces together the strings in the intrument when need be.... he adjusts and tigthens the strings all to produce the sound desired.. and in the end when all the strings play together with or without the tuner there, it produces a beautiful symphony of music.... haha... a penny for your thoughts.. =]
yesterday i begun with my intermediate close combat trg.. hahaz.. pretty fun to do it esp when its like special tuition for the 3 pcs from cougar coy.. the best coy! hahaz.. was doing ground fighting, locks and all... think i hurt my left shoulder alittle.. still hurts abit.. but well cannot go ard limping ma.. pc leiz!! =X managed to finish the interviews for the platoon as well as have a talk with my commanders.. think the more i do it the more i feel as a pc.. in the army is another form of leadership but i guess my style is working pretty ok...
currently on off today.. hahaz.. oc give us 4 days off as advance party and due to my company's excellent performance in india our co gave us all another 2 days off.. but as officer its like unlimited only to the limit of how our oc wanna let us clear.. so the moment he gave the go ahead i straight away ask for today.. long weekend ma.. besides i'm gonna get busier in time... sadly with the shoulder injury i'm like home all day... at most going dinner with my classmates later.. loLx...

maybe its coz of the weather here... i've been feeling really restless, troubled, irritated and moody all this while... to make things worst i fell feverishly sick this morning when i woke up.. as a result i didnt meet up with ys and co as planned..
have you ever had dreams that you dont want to wake out from? not anything pervese.. but something really close to your heart.. a dream where you find that small spark of happiness you always longed to find? well i did... when i woke up i was wondering why i woke up for.. maybe thats why i got the headache?
the humidity really gets me irritated.. coupled with something bugging my head all day, it seems i have to up the dosage of panadol pills tonight.. haiz... somehow the jubilance and joy died out already....

paRt 3 oF 3 abT inDia~
one of the most fulfilling part of this exercise in the form of heartware was my friendship with my fellow officers.. due to the magnitude of our bilateral we worked with other formations such as ATGM and engineers asset that we never saw before.. i got to make frenz with safeties from 46SAR as well as meet up with old fren marcus.. even the bond with jerry, tom and keng yang grew stronger..
so we left camp on the 20 march.. took a long bus ride to agra where we checked into this really nice hotel.. think its the best of the 3 hotels we booked... only prob was the bathing water was yellow!! omG.. the other hotels also say the same thing... manz.. its now shit water though.. i went to try it.. just that it may be river water? =
then we went to TAJ MAHAL at agra.. hahaz wonder of the world man.. it was kinda worn out when you actually take a closer look and when you step into it can smell the tomb smell.. it was actually very small inside and dark... somemore there were alot of ppl there.. indians and tourists alike.... one thing was their souvenirs were sold along the way there where kids and adults alike will try to 'kar' us.. from the first mention of up to 1000rupees.. we can buy it at 150rupees.. they will get desperate as long as we reject them and walk away.. they use all sorts of tactics man.. sickening.. jerry even got a kid crying and following him begging him to buy from him... what the man... after that went to a place called something bazaar and got somemore souvenirs and shirts..
went back had a good nights sleep then went to delhi the red fort and india gate... went to a modern shopping centre but was no different in terms of prices compared to singapore... so after dinner we went to airport 3 and a half hours early in fear that be like the previous 2 frames where there were crazy delays due to problems with customs and all... my flight on SQ was delayed 30min but the other flight was delayed for 2 hours... manz.. their airport is f***ed up manz..
got home yesterday from a life from jerry's dad.. unpacked alittle when lina told me abt cca orientation so i went down to sch helped out alittle and had alot of fun chatting with juniors and cyril... even rowed the ego machine in my civilian attire.. haha.. went on to amk to meet my parents and sis-in-law for dinner and even bought a new camera! hehz.. the kodak c360.. 5megapixels 3x optical zoom good night shots and 8 free gifts along with a 512mb sd card all for $399.. can see was from the it show promotional prices..really good compared to my old camera or even canon which was just stylish but not really good in terms of photography actually...
i dunnoe why lar.. when i get back maybe god wanna play ard with me.. haiz.. not that i wanna brag or anything.. but the last 24hrs.. keep getting ppl talking abt how i look... from the dfs cashier to the singapore immigration officer to my sis-in-law.. things like being handsome, cute, cheery or how good looking.. its... aiya think no one will understand... maybe its lies.. maybe its jokes.. maybe its a compliment.. somemore all in a 24hr timeframe.. but when saying such things it only hits me like a hammer as i seem like a failure in life.. haiz... come back straight away get this kinda thing.. really bugs me alot... hope it gets outta the system man..

when the guys came was really glad.. coz can finally get down into business... one thing that got us abit tipsy was our constant late night coordination meetings that was almost driving us crazy.. think its best that things be left to the conducting to inform us or even not we ourselves will want to know the timings so we will ask the person involved.. rather than all meet together and listen to things that may not concern them... the jobs in army is pretty clear cut, but i guess thats just how diff ppl work ba...
i was conducting for their drv and combat drills so it was pretty hectic getting the paperwork done to only be cast inside the rover when the thing really begun.. haiz.. why so ma huan man... write so much also the picture is in my head.. write all that just for those ppl up there to read and complain.. sometimes i feel they are so high up that they forget the purpose of planning that they always want to get their leg into everything only to cause problems to us down there.. guess army or business world its all the same... trust? they just wont trust us huh.. no wonder ppl are not being able to think on their own foot...
when it begun everything was back to back.. after an exercise we went back, clean arms, convoy vehicles, service vehicles, sleep for few hours then moved out for the next exercise.. approaching the 7th day the fatigue was really accumulated till i kept knocking out in the vehicle when the chance permits.. sadly my camera got spoilt by the mid time so i couldnt take any more photos...
the highlights were the cross exhibition of each countries weapons and the bilateral exercise.. being a professional army, the equipment was definitely superior but in the exhibition firing, my company's gunners got better scores than theirs of the same job - but instead of their 2nd year in army.. these guys been doing it for 20 over years.. shocking eh? their army is really regimental and well disciplined.. really good to work with them, being my first time working with a foreign army in discussions and all..
just that their caste system does feel apparent, their officers were very gracious, inviting us officers to their functions and accomodating to our needs... just that their officers have this kinda barrier that talking to them is really hard esp since the officers talking to us 2LTs were at least a major in rank.. =\ their men were really happy to have us i gotta say.. when my men introduced myself to their fellow counterparts the sargeants or even men were as old as my dad but were very happy to even shake my hand and talk abt funny stuff.. hahaz.. funny guys stuff lar.. guess its an international thing ba? loLx..
just that during the bilateral we did the rehearsal 11 times, considering its the same thing and myself and my whole platoon of AI had to dismount just as many times, it was driving us mad with boredom... moreover for that whole live firing, my platoon wasnt issued a single round.. haiz.. guess thats the setback of being reserve platoon... was itching for action like the ones i had for FTX, battlecourse and all.. gotta say my platoon morale was very high till the rehearsals begun.. all we did were wait in the depth, secure the crossing pt then mark lanes.. end of story.. only fun part was on the real thing i brought my vehicles and did a luring force where we went head to head with their armoured vehicles.. was really exciting man..
the food was always the same old ones less twice when they served century egg porridge and nasi lemak.. but the way they treat officers make me abit envious.. hahaz.. there were waiters at the officer dining area, they always welcome us with open arms.. their men show genuine respect in their salutes and all.. i also improved alot in my skills and the confidence started to grow again... my commanders also saw a big improvement from the last exercise.. at least my efforts in my debrief to them worked.. my only regret was my camera spoilt so the photos i have were pretty minimal.. haiz...

on to inDia outside trg!!

hmmmz.. whatever it means.. its one of the chapters in kama sutra that almost 75% of my fellow pcs bought.. loLx.. except me lar.. buy for what sia? >.< and yup.. great to be back.. though im not screaming with joy.. my heart feels so lively and brimming with joy.. =X from 22feb to 22march when i touched down last night.. this overseas trip sure has the greatest impact on me from the other 2...
likely its coz of the culture shock/difference in india that i grew accustomed to? well.. its really really different that when i got back its like a culture shock though i stay here.. well how should i begin.. when i first got there what struck me was their terrible traffic and city management.. cows and their dung, noisy cars, derelict vehicles, beggars, decrepit homes all litter the area..
the camp was about 10hrs away thanks to the reckless cum speedy driver of ours..the camp is considerably the most well furnished compared to the other countries i been to.. being advance part i was involved as a safety and shadow for B coy.. did an FTX and l/f with them... first time out in the field was already impressed of how gd the trg grd is for armour.. loLx.. reminded me of the CoD2 i was playing before i got there where desert warfare was involving armour in the game.. cooL manz..
but being so, while they did servicing and planning we had nothing to do.. so we were beginning to bore to death.. thankfully my fellow pc brought his laptop with cs and diablo 2 in it.. loLx.. by the end of the exercise i completed diablo2 till the hell stage.. hehz.. after the b coy left, there was a 2 day period before my coy arrives, so we went to rent a car to drive us ard the cantonments to shop and sight see... went to this dam, then to a old fortress like place called orchha and then to jhansi cantonment all in a day of R&R.. it did help us alot by ending our brooding qns in our head.. "why are we here???" boosted my morale and finally got to spend abit of cash that was otherwise unspent due to the 'canteen' in the camp being very ex and not selling hot food...
